I am trying something different, I want to start sharing more of me. I am not just about fashion I also have a strong faith in God, and on Monday's I want to share something motivational. As much as I LOVE fashion, shopping and shoes, I need to turn my focus back on to what is more valuable to me. Faith is not something I can see like shoes, so it is very easy for me to get distracted and focus on material things.
A couple of years ago I was very blessed to be part of a bible study at church on a book by Jennifer Rothschild: Me Myself & Lies. It was such an amazing experience to learn how powerful my thoughts are and how I could change all the negative talk in my thought closet to positive powerful words God wants us to speak to ourselves. I tend to be very harsh on myself and say everything from you are so ugly, you will never be good enough.
In the book Jennifer refers to your thoughts as a thought closet, which I can totally relate to since I love fashion so much. It made so much sense to me, if you gather all your thoughts and write them down like a thesaurus, what would your thesaurus say about you? I want to start building up my thoughts with truth and not lies.
What is in your thought closet? Do you speak truth or lies to yourself? I hope you will come back with me next Monday to see what I have learned, it is a 6 chapter book so only 5 weeks left to share and learn how to build up our thoughts together!
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14

This is a wonderful, refreshing idea! My 'thought closet' is much like yours, I am not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, thin enough...

DeleteI like that you share spiritual thing. I love the subject. I am aware of the lies and i catch them. I also think that if you had mean people around you for a long time they will bleed in your thoughts. Lucky me i got away from those people. I am following you and thank you so much for the visit.
