I'm Back! Summer Flowers

Welcome back to my blog!  I feel extremely strange because I haven't posted to my blog since November so it's been 8 months since my last post.  I truly missed it, I just kept saying I will do something on my blog tomorrow.  I guess tomorrow is today!

It is officially summer, but here in Arizona Summer felt official since May.  So anyway in this heat I usually live in shorts and dresses, rarely will you catch me in jeans.  I decided to dress up my coral shorts with this floral blazer a thrift store find that had been hanging in my closet for over a year!  I will mention also that it was a $1 on dollar days at the Goodwill.

During the day I wore my shorts and t-shirt with casual shoes, and in the evening for bible study I threw on my blazer with the wedges and jewelry.  I love adding accessories to change my look for the evening,  with 4 kids I have to be able to add something easily.  Blazers and wedges are easy things that can turn a casual look into a more polished look.  What would you wear this blazer with?

Leather Pants: Bon Jour

Bon Jour!  I love this sweater it's just so cute,  I pretty much love anything Hello Kitty.  What can I say I'm still a kid at heart.  I found this cute sweater on clearance at Kohls yesterday and I just had to have it.  I layered it with a denim shirt, faux leather leggings, and my awesome bow heels from JustFab.  Make sure to head on over to The Fashionista Next Door to see more ideas on how to wear leather pants.

Baby It's cold outside!

Oh baby it's cold outside!  It has been pretty cold in the mornings, I now have an excuse to start wearing my coats for a couple of months at least.  I joined in the #Coasttocoastchallenge on Instagram challenge to wear white for Fall.  I threw on some nude tights, a white summer dress from Charlotte Russe, my pink coat I purchased last year on clearance from Rue 21,  and my comfy taupe Karsey boots from JustFab.  Would you wear white in Fall?

Phillip Lim for Target: Boom Sweater Dress

I have to be completely honest, I did not know who Phillip Lim was before he collaborated with Target.  I love fashion but I am not into brand names or designers, but this collection he designed really caught my eye.  I did not purchase anything regular price, instead I waited for the pieces to go on clearance.  This sweater dress was regular price $44 and I got it for $13.48.  I wasn't really sure about it on the hanger, but I ended up loving it!

Below you can see that the sweater part of the dress is really long, but I prefer to scrunch it up and wear it shorter.  The sweater is so soft and cozy, I love the material.  The black chiffon type skirt is attached to the sweater, a very cute detail.  I am wearing it with my red Betsey Johnson clutch, and my black Karsey boots which I love and have been wearing a lot lately.

Now & Later: It's a Plaid thing

I can remember how big of a trend plaid was in the 90's.  I remember borrowing one of my grandpa's brown and blue plaid shirts.  My cousin Cheryl and I were in the same grade, and we would take turns borrowing it from him.  This is a trend you do not have to spend too much money on, you could either raid our hubby's closet, or find a couple of plaid shirts at the thrift store like I did. 

One of the reasons I love this trend is because there are so many ways to wear a plaid shirt.  You can layer it underneath a leather jacket, throw a scarf over it with jeans.  I wanted to show you two ways I wore my plaid shirt.  The first is a skater skirt, black booties, red bag, and black belt.  The second look I just swapped the skirt for some comfy jeans, and I had a relaxed look to run around town with kids.
