Joyce Meyer Conference: OOTD Blue & Yellow

I was so blessed by being able to attend the Joyce Meyer Conference this weekend at the Phoenix First Assembly Church.  She is such a positive speaker, a little in your face, but in a good way!  This weekend's topic was how we get "offended" so easily.  How when we hold on to something even if we know we are right, if we choose not to let it go the only person we are hurting is ourselves!  Do I want joy in my life or do I want to be angry at everyone who offends me?

I learned that I have been living most of my life offended by so many people, holding on to stuff that is only hindering me from growing in my walk with Christ.  How many times have I offended God, and he has and continues to forgive me.  Far too many times for me to count, so what gives me the right to be so angry at everyone?  I know this will not be an overnight change for me, but I want to strive to live a more joyful God filled life that honors God.

Just as my good friend Iris told me once you have to take baby steps, it will not happen overnight.  Good thing is I don't have to do it alone!  I can call on God to fill me with his Spirit, and to make the impossible possible for me.  I am not alone, and that is what I need to remember next time someone cuts me off when I am driving, or looks at me wrong.  I am not perfect and never will be perfect, and that is okay.  I have comfort in knowing that I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens, what more could I ask for!

Here is the outfit I wore to the conference.  I don't know about you but yellow makes me happy.  I found this yellow dress that looks like it may be from the 80's found it at the thrift store.  It is really comfortable, it is cotton dress with really cute buttons all along the back side.  The dress alone is really plain and could be a little boring, good thing for blazers and accessories you can do so much with a simple dress!
Justfab's Bombshell is such an amazing bag, I loved it so much ordered it in the nude and the black.  What's not to love about the bag, the cute bow, studs, and it's the perfect size for any on the go mommy.  You can just throw everything you need in there and still have room for more!

I purchased these heels from the Shoedazzle sale and they are extremely comfortable!  These are also available in black, I added them to my wish list because I know I will get so much use out of these cute and comfy shoes!

Blazer: Candie's line Kohl's
Dress: Goodwill $1
Purse: Bombshell from Justfab $10 add on sale
Heels: Amy from Shoedazzle $11

Pink & Green ready for Spring!

Is anyone else ready for Spring like I am?  I am so ready, tired of wearing coats and boots, and darker colors.  Bring on the bright colors and pastels, I just cannot wait and who say's that you have to?  It is still cold here in Arizona, but whenever I see the sun even peeking out I take advantage.  Can you believe it actually snowed here a couple days ago!  It only snows where I live maybe once in every ten years, but it melted as soon as it started raining.

I love the combination of pink and green together, and the neutral shoes and bag do not compete with the colorful outfit.  What are your favorite colors for this coming year?  I have to admit I never really loved green as much as I do now, there are so many pretty shades of green from mint to darker hues.  Green being the color of the season I have been buying a lot of green lately.

 Blouse: Kohl's
Skirt & belt: Charlotte Russe $15
Purse: XXI $6.50
Shoes: Justfab

These shoes are so comfortable, and I always get compliments on these every time I wear them!  They are also available in a black and gold combo.  Look for these Justfab heels HERE.

Green with Envy: Olivia Palermo Inspired

I am participating in The Fashionista Next Door Style me Friday link up again.  I really love and admire Eboni's style, she really is the fashionista next door!  Even when going casual you should always be fashionable.  This weeks challenge is a bright coat, inspired by Olivia Palermo.

I do not own a yellow coat, and I try to only use items I already have in my closet for these challenges.  I found this pretty green coat while thrifting a couple weeks ago.  Green is the new "IT" color of the season, and it's a very pretty color.  I am wearing my faux-leather leggings from Charlotte Russe, a black top from H&M, my Hello Kitty flats from Justfab, and my Betsey Johnson quilted heart bag from TJ MAXX.

Jacket: Thrift store $1
Top: H&M $6
Leggings: Charlotte Russe $22
Purse: Betsey Johnson $39.99
Shoes: Hello Kitty Flats Justfab $39.99

If you look closely you can see the super cute silver Hello Kitty faces on the shoes!  I am a Hello Kitty lover, so these were the one pair I managed to snag from Justfab's Hello Kitty Collection.  I knew I would get so much use out of them since they are black and flats, which is what I usually wear through out the day.  My heel's are usually reserved for church, or going out.

Carrie Bradshaw Inspired: Prabal Gurung Heels

This look was inspired by the character of Carrie Bradshaw on "The Carrie Diaries".  I wanted to find a way to wear my sequin dress a little casual , and when I saw this outfit on the show I really felt inspired to put this look together.  It may be a little colorful with the aqua jacket, but I really like it!  I like anything bright or colorful, colors make me happy.

My shoes are from the Prabal Gurung collection at Target.  I was debating between these colorful heels, and some black sandals, and ended up getting both for Valentine's.  I felt guilty for getting both, but as my friend pointed out I am so frugal with my clothes, it is okay to splurge once in a while!  They are so comfortable, and they will go with so many outfits.  These shoes were really more of an investment in my wardrobe.

My aqua jean jacket was a thrift store find $1, peach sequin dress was from the clearance rack from Forever 21 $7.99, my purse was also in the clearance section at Forever 21 $ 6.49.  My shoes were $39.99, you will be seeing more of these shoes on my blog!  Would you dare to wear a sequin dress during the day?

This is a link up with The Fashionista Next Door daytime sparkle, go check out her blog!

Valentines Inspired: Sweet, Romantic, Wild, Casual

Happy Valentine's Day! Valentine's Day used to be so much fun to me when I was younger and I knew for sure that I would be receiving  a Valentine's from everyone in my classroom.  Then I got older and sometimes didn't get a Valentine and would feel bad about it.  I have decided not to care anymore, Valentine's Day to me is about showing your kids, parents, and friends that you appreciate and LOVE them, it doesn't have to be about "romance" and spending a bunch of money.

Here are 4 different looks that I put together, one is sweet, one romantic, one is a little wild, and the last one is casual.  I like most women have so many different sides of me and it just all depends on how I feel that day, so my outfits tend to tell a story sometimes.  I think it's fun to express how you feel through how you dress each day, nothing wrong with that!

The first is my sweet look.  I am wearing this mint button down top thrift store find $1, I LOVE this top!  Why would anybody want to get rid of it?  I don't know but I am sure glad that I found it.  Believe it or not this look was inspired very last minute when I was standing in line at Charlotte Russe to purchase this polka dot pink skirt $15 last week, I glanced over and saw these floral heels in the clearance rack.  I said why not wear these 2 items together, by the way my heels were $10.

You might recognize my necklace it was a gift from my trip to the Justfab office last week, love it!  My bracelet is from Rue 21 $5.95 they have so many colors I must go back for a few more.  My lovely sweet & a little wild purse is Impresario from Justfab.  It is part of the Valentine's collection, and today they are having a sale where you can add a handbag or a pair of jeans to your bag for only $15 if you purchase a regular priced item!  This is a great deal so don't pass it up!

My second look is my romantic look.  I found this really pretty dress while thrift store shopping $1.  It looks like it had never been worn.  I did a little DIY to the dress the red bottom of the dress was as long as the black over lay lace, but I decided I wanted it to be shorter so I cute the red bottom to make the illusion of a short dress under the long one.  I love how it turned out!

My heels are Colette from Shoedazzle $11.99, I got them to go with this dress.  My bag again is Impressario from Justfab, my favorite bag!  My necklace again is the same necklace from the first look.  I love this look if I was going out to dance with hubby, maybe some Salsa or Spanish music.

My third look is a little wild, but I like it!  I am wearing a Marilyn Monroe t-shirt from Walmart $3.  My skirt is a heart print skirt from Rue 21 $3, my blazer is an older blazer (maternity)  I love it so I just cannot seem to get rid of it!  My boots are Akari from Shoedazzle, and they were only $12, so extremely comfortable!  Yes this look is a little wild with the over the knee boots and the skirt, but I think the loose fitting shirt and blazer kind of balance out this look.

My last look is my casual look.  I am actually wearing this one today as I run around taking my kids to school.  I am wearing a white peplum top, a jean heart printed jean blouse over the white shirt from Rue 21 $8.50, my pink skinny jeans from Rue 21, my silver flats from Wet Seal, and my silver heart clutch from Justfab.  I wanted to add a little bit of glitter and pazazz with the glittery shoes and clutch.

Which outfit was your favorite?  My favorite outfit was the very first one, the sweet outfit.  Hope that I inspired you and gave you some ideas for some affordable outfits.  Happy Valentine's Day, and don't forget to show Love and compassion to those around you!  Please don't forget to SUBSCRIBE :)

Justfab: Pinch me, am I dreaming?

I have to say that before Justfab I was just and ordinary housewife, stay at home mom.  I used the same boring sweats, t-shirts, and tennis shoes everyday.  Since joining Justfab, I have developed a love for fashion, and shoes, met other women through facebook who also share the same love for shoes.  I now take time to make sure I feel good about myself and look good, in order to be a better mother and a better wife.  Justfab is more than just a Shoe Club, they help build women's confidence!

Never in my wildest did I ever imagine that I would be going to the Justfab office to meet such amazing wonderful people.  I had the privilege to be part of a test group, and go to their offices in L.A.  I woke up around 1am on Friday, left my house around 3am, and arrived in L.A. around 10am.  It was a LONG drive but so worth it!  The office was amazing they have  shoes and purses displayed throughout the lobby.  I almost wanted to ask Nicole to pinch me just in case it was a dream!

Justfab recently added a new program The Brand Ambassador Program, where they select customers to promote, test, and spread the word of this amazing company.  The Ambassador's are rewarded with credits, we get to see previews of up coming collections for our feedback, we also get to try out the new items before they come out.  Oh, and you get to host fun Justfab parties and share your love for this company with your friends and family.

Johnny is so fab, he has the best energy ever!  It was really cool to meet him.

I got to meet Joyce my SS for the first time, we have been friends on Facebook and in Shoediva's group for years.

After we finished up the test group, they said they had a surprise for us.  We got to choose a handbag that has not been released yet.  I chose this grey snakeskin handbag, it's really pretty and I love the style of it.  This bag can be a neutral and will go with so many things in my closet!  I also chose this pretty black necklace that will also go with so much!

The pink high heel necklace was give to my daughter Nicole, but I really wanted it, so when I asked her what it would take for it to be mine she said $10!  LOL, sold she was happy with her $10 and I was happy with the necklace.  I also got this beautiful pink glitter tumbler that I had been eying for the longest time, and my daughter received one also!  In addition to these lovely goodies we also received 2 credits for participating and some free jeans!  I am so grateful and thankful to be part of such an amazing and wonderful company who helps build women up.

Thank you Justfab, this has been an amazing experience and a blessing!

Dear Grandpa,

It has been 16 years today since you left this world to be in a better place.  I remember how much you loved the Lord with all your heart, and how you instilled that same faith and love for God  into your children and grandchildren.  I remember how excited I would get when I would get to go to church with you and grandma.  With my tambourine in hand, my favorite part of the service was always the worship.  Positive music always has a way of uplifting and encouraging your soul.

I wanted you to know that you will always be alive in my heart, and that I hold comfort in knowing that one day I will see you again.  We will be able to hold hands and worship to your favorite songs.  Although we didn't inherit anything material from you, you gave us the greatest and most priceless gift of all.  The privilege and importance of knowing God and keeping him in our hearts wherever we choose to go in life.  No matter what choices we have made or make, I know that the prayers you prayed for your children and grandchildren have covered us with blessings.

Love Always,

Pollito

The Carrie Diaries: Florals & Pastels

If you absolutely LOVE fashion and you were a fan of Sex and the City, then you have probably been watching CW's new show The Carrie Diaries.  This show is my new favorite show, it is a show about Carrie Bradshaw before she was Sex and the City.  It takes place in the 80's which I love, I grew up in the 80's but I did not get to choose what I wore since I was only a little girl. I love how some things are coming back in style again.  It gives me an opportunity to play with my wardrobe and incorporate the past with the present.

The first episode showed Donna who is Carrie's rival in the show wearing a floral jean jacket.  I got all excited because I had a floral jacket I had purchased at Rue 21 on clearance, but I couldn't figure out what to wear it with.  Although I was never anything like Donna in she show (the mean girl) I admire here style.  My look is not as daring as Donna's since I am a mother of 4 I have to make it mommy appropriate.  I decided to mix my floral jacket with pastels, and I really like how it turned out!

What is your favorite Era for fashion inspiration?

 Jacket: Rue 21 $6
Top: Rue 21 $8
Jeans: Rue 21 $5

OOTD: Under $20 Black & White splashed with Red

Happy Monday!  I was a little hesitant on posting this outfit that I wore on Friday.  I didn't really love how the pictures turned out, but I  really wanted to share my OOTD, so I decided to go ahead and post it today.  The total cost of my outfit including the boots, drum role please...$18.33!

I love black and white, but I also believe you should add some color to the combination.  I chose to add red, it is one of my favorite colors to add and give black and white a splash of color.  Yes, my outfit is a little 80's inspired, I know.  What can I say I am a child from the 80's, and it brings back memories!  Love it or hate it, you should dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable regardless of what is "in style" at the moment.

I really need to do a thrift store haul video, I have really been finding such amazing deals!  Hopefully you will be seeing the haul by the end of this week.  My black wand white striped shirt was a little over sized, but I just loved the style of the shirt so I went ahead and got it.  These over sized shirts are also great to wear with skinny jeans or with leggings.

My red skirt came as part of a suit with a red blazer, I don't think I would wear it as a suit, but as 2 separate pieces.  I would also never wear this skirt with a fitted top, I do not want to accentuate my mommy belly.  My boots are amazing!  I also purchased them in eggplant from the Shoedazzle sale, I really couldn't beat the price.  I am so happy I did get these boot in both colors, they are so comfortable and so versatile.

Shirt: Goodwill $1
Skirt: Goodwill $1
Purse: H&M $3.50
Boots: Shoedazzle $12.88

Grand total: $18.33
