Now & Later: It's a Plaid thing

I can remember how big of a trend plaid was in the 90's.  I remember borrowing one of my grandpa's brown and blue plaid shirts.  My cousin Cheryl and I were in the same grade, and we would take turns borrowing it from him.  This is a trend you do not have to spend too much money on, you could either raid our hubby's closet, or find a couple of plaid shirts at the thrift store like I did.

One of the reasons I love this trend is because there are so many ways to wear a plaid shirt.  You can layer it underneath a leather jacket, throw a scarf over it with jeans.  I wanted to show you two ways I wore my plaid shirt.  The first is a skater skirt, black booties, red bag, and black belt.  The second look I just swapped the skirt for some comfy jeans, and I had a relaxed look to run around town with kids.

Make sure to stop by The Fashionista Next Door for some inspiring looks.

Monday Mood-lifter:Something Just for You

Sometimes as women, mothers, or wives, we spend so much time taking care of everyone else we forget to take care of ourselves.  We should always have something to look forward to at least once a month.  A massage, a manicure, a pedicure, or ladies night.  I am one who truly enjoys my time with my girlfriends.  I don't get to do it all the time, so I truly cherish my girl time.

The outfit I am sharing with you is from a week ago, I went out for ladies night with a few ladies from church.  We did a glam night, we got all dressed up for dinner, and a Flamenco show.  It was so much fun!  I wore my glam Raven sparkly shoes from the JustFab Luxe line.  These are the highest heels I own, thankfully  I did not fall in them I was very careful and did not walk fast in them.  They are definitely sit down shoes, you shouldn't wear them if you plan to do a lot of walking or standing.

Thank you for stopping by!  May you have a blessed and lovely week.

Disney Inspired Costumes: Belle, Snow White & Minnie Mouse

I wanted to share some last minute costume ideas.  I was inspired by a couple Disney Characters.  I only used items that I already had in my closet. My first look is Belle from Beauty and the Beast, this is my favorite Disney movies ever.  My look is more of a modern Belle look, I am wearing a cutout yellow dress from Charlotte Russe, white gloves, and my lovely Raven heels from JustFab.

My second look is Snow White. In this look I am wearing the same yellow dress, I added a blue blazer from Forever 21 (perfect for dressing in a costume to work), red bow headband, and my red Malibu wedges from JustFab.  I love these wedges, not only are they comfortable enough to take them out trick or treating, but they are super cute!

Last but not least is a Minnie Mouse inspired look.  This has to be one of my favorite costumes, I have already used this costume before a couple of times.  I made the sparkly Minnie Mouse ears, my pink polka dot dress is an old Maternity dress that I just cannot seem to get rid of, white gloves, and my black Cher heels from JustFab.

Blogger Collaboration: Breast Cancer Awareness

Happy Friday!  This week went so fast for me, I feel like I blinked and it was over!
In a way it's good, but I didn't get to do anything I had planned, and I am sorry for not posting on Monday like I had promised.  I will try to post more consistently, just be patient with me.

Today we decided to do a blogger collaboration for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  You wear pink for the month of October so that we remember to get a mammogram.  I have to admit that I have never had a mammogram, and I really need to make time for it.  My mother had a lump in her breast a few years ago, but the doctors caught it at an early stage.  They were able to remove the lump, and she was fine.  The key is to catch it early before it spreads.  If you haven't had one done, then make sure you make it a priority!

Please make sure to visit each of the blogs to show these lovely ladies some love!

Pink Blazer: Charlotte Russe
Shirt: Forever 21
Necklace: Rue 21
Love Bracelet: Rue 21
Skirt: Kohls
Booties: Karsey JustFab

I am really loving my new booties Karsey from JustFab!  I wore them today for the first time and already got a couple of compliments on them.  They are part of the Paulina Rubio Collection, aren't they so different and unique?  I love the zipper details, and they are really comfortable.  I went up half a size because I like to wear socks with them, but they fit me slightly loose, so I would say these are true to size.

I love Chanda's tuxedo pants, visit her blog for more details on her look @Birth of a fashion blogger

I really like Airie's cozy sweater with her faux leather pants visit her blog here @Fashion To Live

How cute are Nikki's booties?  I think I may need to add them to my collection!  Visit her blog here @It's Nikki's World

A Leopard Coat?

Happy Friday fashionistas!  I don't know about you but Fridays are my favorite day of the week, it means that I can stop and exhale.  I feel like sometimes I tend to hold my breath throughout the week because I am just so busy.  With making sure the kids get to school on time, to helping with homework, and keeping up with the house cleaning, my week always seems to be done before I get a chance to exhale.

Today I am taking inspiration for my outfit of the day from Eboni from The Fashionista Next Door.  The challenge for today was to wear a leopard coat, since I do not own one I am wearing my leopard blazer in place of it.  It as actually not cold enough to start wearing coats here in Arizona.  Make sure to check out Eboni's blog for more inspiring looks from the other fabulous bloggers.

Spirit Day: Now & Later

I can't believe it's almost Friday, yay!  Okay so just in case you didn't know today is #spirit day.  You wear purple on October 17th to show that you are standing up against bullying.  I have been bullied in school, I was always the quiet girl sitting at the very back of the classroom not wanting to be noticed.  Unfortunately I was an easy target for some bullies because I did not really stand up for myself.

It is never okay to bully anyone.  Take a stand and make a difference, we need to love and accept each other's differences.  Our differnces are what make each and everyone of us unique!  How boring would it be if we were all exactly the same?

I joined in on a blogger collaboration with the Airie from Fashion To Live, and Toya from In Her Heels. Please make sure to stop by and show their blog some love!  I decided to show you a Now & Later looks.  I am wearing the same skirt, boots, and purse in both looks.  My first look is an outfit you can wear to go to the office, and in my second look I just changed my shirt and added a leather jacket.  This look is perfect if you want to grab a drink with your friends after work.

Luxe Line: JustFab Robinson boots

I was very happy to recieve Robinson from JustFab's new Luxe line, they are genuine leather boots. I wasn't really sure about the price since I love the $39.95 price on their regular items, but once I received my Robinson boots, I knew that these were a definite investment into my Fall wardrobe.  I absolutely love the double buckle details on the side of the boots and I really like that the zipper zips all the way down.

Here are a few ways I have worn my JustFab Robinson boots, and Fall has only just begun!  You can expect to see me rocking my boots in a few more outfits this season.  Which outfit do you like best?

Monday mood lifter: floral & camo

I want to start a new serious called Monday mood lifter.  I don't know about you but I sure can use a lift especially on Mondays!  What I will be doing is making a commitment to share something I learned at Women of Destiny the week before in hopes that it will encourage you like it has me.  I will also share my ootd, who says fashion and God cant mix?  This past Thursday Pastor Dion was our speaker, and wow she is just amazing to say the least.

"Your access has been granted" was the title of Pastor Dion's message.  2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation.  The old identity cannot give you access to the new identity.  You need to find the woman inside and set her free!  You are a daughter of the Living God!  You are beautiful, you are unique, you are smart, you are a diamond!

I learned that it doesn't matter what everyone else says about me, I will never loose my identity in Christ.  I was created for a purpose.  I was not an accident.  He knew me by name even before I was born!  Be encouraged, stay faithful, and know that you have a destiny to fulfill!

Military Vest:  Charlotte Russe $15
Shirt: H&M $7
Purse: Mulberry @JustFab
Floral Jeans: Forever 21 $8
Camo heels: Shoedazzle $15

Thank you for stopping by, and may you have a blessed week!
